Anytime you can get one of your better shooters setting a good cross screen and then coming off a screen, you are usually going to end up with some good action. The defense has to decide whether they are going to help on the cross screen and give up a shot off the down screen, or stay with the shooter and let the cross screen post up get a catch. Basketball plays like this put the defense in a lose-lose situation if run the correct way.
Play Name: Wallace State: Back Screen, Cross Screen, Elevator Screen Basketball Play (11-12)
Similar Plays: Chicago Bulls: Cross Screen/Down Screen Basketball Play, Duke: Post Flash Cross Screen Basketball Play
Play Goal: Get either a post up on the cross screen or a shot off the down screen for a shooter.
Play Tips: The only way that this play works is if the shooter first sets a good cross screen for the big man. Also, the single down screen needs to be a good legal screen. Hit the shooter right as he comes off the down screen.
