In a basketball game, you need to be able to change direction quickly, and having the proper footwork will help you be more efficient, which ultimately makes you quicker. The crossover step is used when you need to turn to either side laterally and then full sprint.
When you land from grabbing a rebound and want to turn and speed dribble down the floor, you would use the crossover step; this is just one example. Train yourself to be more efficient with this speed and quickness workout.
