There are thousands of man to man basketball sets and it is very difficult to separate the good plays from the not so good ones. Sometimes the plays themselves are good but they are just not for the level that you are playing or coaching at. Our goal is to provide you with a list of good plays for all levels that you can decide what works for your team best.
Deciding on the right plays for your team depend heavily on playing style and player personnel. You don’t want plays designed to feed it inside every time when you are a guard oriented team. Also when picking plays make sure that you have certain sets that are designed to get your best player the ball in spots where he comfortable and will put up a high percentage shot. Provide your players a mix of offensive sets and motion offenses. Finally, help your players understand the plays and the options out of the play. You don’t want robots that don’t understand the game and it is unfair to a player for you to not help him learn. Trust me it is worth the extra time to help develop your team’s basketball IQ.
