Frog Jumps Basketball Drill

Frog Jumps Basketball Drill

Being able to jump comes from your legs, but it also comes from your core, hips, and upper body as well. This basketball workout will help the player open up their hips when they load to jump, and it will also teach how to get low and explode upwards when jumping. You want to make sure that your entire body is working all in sync to help you jump as high as you can.

This is where jumping technique and form come into play. Whether it is using your arms to help propel you forward or getting a full extension in your ankles at the end of your jump, it all helps the player jump higher, jump quicker, and be more explosive. Frog jumps are a great basketball vertical jump drill to add to your basketball training plan because it will translate into a lot of different areas on the court. Whether it is jumping to rebound, finishing at the basket, rising up over the defender to get a shot off; it all comes from being able to jump and be explosive.
