Similar Drills: Lunges, Ball Drop Reaction Time Quickness Drill, Crossover Steps Drill
Drill Goal: Learn to maintain athletic position, lateral quickness
Equipment Needed: None
Tips: Begin by using short quick steps rather than large wide ones.
Directions: From athletic position, quickly move your feet towards each other than immediately away from each other continuously for a set number of repetitions or time.

Drill Name: Foot Chops (Forwards-Backwards)
Similar Drills: Kneeling Stops Drill, Lateral Shuffle Hops Drill, Reverse Hop Backs Drill
Drill Goal: Learn to maintain athletic position, vertical quickness
Equipment Needed: None
Tips: Begin by using short quick steps rather than large wide ones. Do not allow your feet to gravitate towards each other.
Directions: From athletic position, quickly move one foot forward and the other backward than immediately switch. Continue alternating as quickly as possible for a set number of repetitions or time.

Similar Drills: Bunny Hops, 2 Step Backs Drill, Cones Change Direction Drill
Drill Goal: Learn to maintain athletic position during any agility exercise
Equipment Needed: None
Tips: Utilize the skills learned during the lateral and forward/backwards foot chop exercises.
Directions: From athletic position, begin by performing the lateral foot chop exercise. On your coach’s signal, without hesitating, switch to the forward/backward motion. Continue for specific time or number of switches.
